Hey there! Welcome to JessicaSlaughter.co (because the .com was taken), a lifestyle blog where I’ll be sharing college advice and inspiration for living a healthy + impactful life. So, the story behind this blog is a little confusing, but I promise, it’ll make sense in the end! I’ll give you some background on myself first.

I’m Jessica, a student at the University of Texas at Austin and blogging enthusiast. I started blogging in 2014 at The Blogging Brew, where I currently provide blogging tips + tutorials to help young women create and maintain a successful blog. Initially though, it was a little-bit-of-everything blog. I had beauty tips, college advice, random stories, and just a jumbled mess of topics. Eventually I narrowed my focus down to college and blogging tips, but even them something felt off. Both topics were doing very well, but with separate audiences that didn’t mesh well. The readers who wanted blogging tips were generally women with blogs of their own, while the readers of my college posts were young women without blogs, who had little to no interest in blogging. See my problem?

After tons of debating, I decided I needed to split up my blog and make The Blogging Brew exclusively for blogging tips. I already had this website made, as the home page serves as my resume website, but I hadn’t created a blog for it yet, so this worked out perfectly! The idea is that this blog will be very chill and non-businessy. My goal is to fill this place up with helpful college advice for the next few years, and continue on with it through the many life stages that lie ahead of me!

Hopefully that wasn’t too confusing, I’m still wrapping my head around it.

So with that said, welcome to my lifestyle blog, and thanks to everyone who supported me through this change! If you want to follow along elsewhere, I’m a total Pinterest addict. You can also find me on Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram!
